To Trust or Not to Trust

I want to share an experience I had the other day.

I was driving from San Diego to Los Angeles and you may know that the traffic here can be horrendous.

Not so much on this day and so, I decided to use my cruise control for the first time ever.

And what an experience!

You see I had to trust that the cruise control will slow my car or come to a stop if needed.

And I began to notice that sometimes I got anxious or felt fearful as cars whizzed around me and my car needed to slow down quickly.

And it made me think about the experience of trusting Source or trusting our intuition.

It is in those moments that we are asked to simply trust that we will reach our destination…that we will speed up and slow down as we follow our intuition that doubts can come flooding in.

Sometimes when it looks like things aren’t working out, we might be tempted to take over control of the speed at which we are moving…or change the destination.

And it is these times that we need to lean into it and remind ourselves that all is well, that we’ll get where we are meant to go…maybe faster or slower than we thought we would. Maybe by a different route than we anticipated.

It is in those moments when we become anxious or fearful that we need to pause, breathe and remind ourselves that all is well.

And so I ask you to reflect on:

What would you do in those moments to comfort yourself?

Because these moments will arise and the better you handle them, the smoother the ride.

And guess what?  I got to my destination in record time…and it was oh so relaxing to let go and let the cruise control handle the details on speeding up and slowing down.

And so it is with Source.

I’d love to hear from you. So, drop me a note and let me know what you do when your trust waivers.
